Copper Pans Care & Use Guide

To care for copper pans, hand wash them using warm soapy water and a soft non scratch sponge. Do not put in the dishwasher and always dry thoroughly to prevent water marks.

We recommend that you occasionally polish the copper exterior in order to remove any tarnish and return the pans to their original beauty.  You can polish the exterior by scrubbing the pan with a simple paste of equal parts white vinegar and table salt, or use a commercial polish.

Tips

  • Hand-wash only: Do not put copper cookware in the dishwasher. The harsh detergents and intense heat will cause the copper to tarnish, dull, and pit.

  • Use wooden, plastic or silicone utensils: Copper pans are lined with stainless steel. Avoid using metal utensils, as this can scratch and damage the inner lining.

  • Do not heat an empty pan: Always add a small layer of oil or water before heating the pan to prevent thermal stress to the lining. There’s no need to use a high heat setting for Copper pans. Cook on a low to medium heat, as copper heats incredibly fast.

  • Leave to soak for food residue: If food sticks to the pan, simply let the pan soak in warm water soapy water, keeping the outside of the pan dry. Do not use harsh dish scrubbers inside the pan.

  • Always dry quickly: Do not leave Copper pans to dry naturally, always dry as soon as possible. This will help preserve the material and prevent water marks.

  • Polish every 1-2 months: Depending on the frequency of use, when your pans start to look a little dull, bring them back to life with a home made or commercial polish
